The beautiful historic pueblo of San Germān is perched on green mountains that overlook the neighboring town of Lajas. San German is unique for it's Old World architecture and the home town of many famous poets and actors of Puerto Rico.
Quick Facts about San Germān, Puerto Rico San German is a historic town and it's Puerto Rico's oldest settlement outside San Juan, the capital of Puerto Rico. It was named after the second wife of Ferdinand of Spain, Germaine de Foix. - Location: San Germān is located in Porta del Sol, north of Lajas (where you will find La Parguera), west of Ponce and Sabana Grande. and east of Cabo Rojo.

San Germān was officially founded in 1573. Famous Puerto Rican from San Germán - Lola Rodríguez de Tiķ (1843-1924), the well-known poet and political leader who wrote the lyrics of Puerto Rico's unoffical national anthem, "La Borinqueņa." - Festivals / Events in San Germān, PR: Fiestas Patronales San Germān Auxerre is celebrated in July. The Festival del Aņon is celebrated in September and the Festival de Navidad is celebrated in December.

Getting to San Germān, Puerto RicoBy Car:If you are already on the west side, take Rt 2 from Mayaguez. If you are traveling to San Germān from San Juan get on the San Juan Expressway #18 South to San Juan Expressway #52 South to Ponce Road (Carretera [carr.]) #2 East to San Germān Road #360 South.
