Known as the "Ciudad del Cafe" (Coffee City), because some of the best coffee in Puerto Rico is cultivated here. Coffee is such a loved natural resource that an annual festival is dedicated to coffee. A place of interest is the Maricao Forest Reserve offering breathtaking views of the west coast of Puerto Rico. On a hot day, Maricao is a great place to escape from the heat and drive into cooler breezes.

Known by every Puerto Rican as the "City of the Sweet Orange" and also for it's coffee plantations. An annual festival dedicated to the oranges are not to be missed if you happen to be visiting during it's celebration where you can enjoy all kinds of treats and foods that have a touch of sweet orange that you can enjoy as you watch locals dancing to traditional Puerto Rican dances during a colorful and festive parade.
Anasco is where the surfing beaches begin running north all the way to Isabela. Anasco is the home of the second largest plaza in Puerto Rico, a nice amusement park for children named "El Castillo", and a lookout tower overlooking the Anasco Bay which is worth visiting to take some scenic photos.
If you love surfing Rincon is where you want to vacation in Puerto Rico. Rincon offers the best surfing in the Caribbean with waves up to 25 feet in the winter months and has hosted two World Surfing Championships. If you are visiting during the winter months you can watch magnificent hump back whales from the Rincon Lighthouse. The pueblo of Aguada has an elegant plaza worth visiting, beaches for bathing, surfing and long walks on the sand. If you happen to be visiting in November make sure you come to Aguada for the Discovery of Puerto Rico parade celebrated annually. Aguada is the second oldest settlement in Puerto Rico and there are various historic sites including Ermita Espinar Ruins. For family fun visit the Parque Infantil (a playground) area.
Aguadilla is quickly becoming a popular vacation destination since it's at the center of many surfing beaches, the home of the Aguadilla Airport, nearby shopping, golf, beaches, and gorgeous sunsets. Playa Crash Boat is a beautiful beach where and interesting for photographers for all it's colorful boats parked on the sand, make sure you stay for a colorful amber sunset and for a show by the pelican whisperer who makes pelicans dance.

Internationally known for the production of beautifully crafted lace and a historic French Provincial Style Mansion named Palacete Los Moreau. If you happen to be around make sure you attend the Annual Mundillo Festival (Lace Festival). Places of Interest are the Museum of Mundillo, El Merendero; a lookout point with views of Isla de Mona and the valley, and Antiguo Castillo Melendez; an old castle which is now a hotel.
Come to San Sebastian and enjoy sights of mogotes (haystack hills) and make a day trip to Lago de Guajataca; a gorgeous lake where you can fish, go paddle boating and have cool breezy picnics. Anxiously the locals await for the annual Hammock Festival with music, tons of traditional food and of course many locally woven hammocks.

You can hike through trails on the forest, drive to the Guajataca lookout a very scenic place and walk through the historic Guajataca tunnel. Part of the Karst Region with scenic views of haystack hills, Quebradillas is the last town on the Porta del Sol region. A popular attraction in Quebradillas is Panaderia Legendaria where they still use a wood oven to bake bread, you have to go and eat some fresh bread right out of the oven, put your calorie restricted diet away and try some of the traditional desserts made there. Quebradillas shares the Guajataca Tunnel with Isabela, a magnificent sight of a massive blue ocean.
